  1. How is the  technical  quality?  The technical quality is great there are so many little details that are revealed because of his really good technical quality.   2. How’s the  composition?   The composition is amazing considering he photographs in only black and white and all the aspects of the images blend together to create a great photograph. 3. What do you find interesting about his work?   I find it interesting that he photographs a lot of unusual subjects such as the skull below. Additionally, it is very interesting how his black and white images really tell a story.

1. The quality of the photos is really outstanding. The photographers are able to capture a still shot and juxtapose a moving video in between really skillfully and make their shots look absolutely beautiful. Every shot is really beautiful and I love their creativity  2. The composition of the photos is also really great. They have perfect lighting and their subject moving very slightly. Even though they are doing something totally normal, the photo is so cool.  3. I honestly love everything about these photos. I just think the creativity in general of all their subjects and photos is the most interesting part.

Film Response - Photographic Process Series

I found it very interesting how woodburytype is essentially a photomechanical process that creates a print by pressing a layer of gelatin onto paper in a mold. It is always very cool learning about different ways of creating photographs. The quality of the photographs were great which also added to why it was interesting. We learned that the pigment process is a photographic printing technique that uses bichromated colloids, usually gelatin with potassium or ammonium bichromate, to create images when exposed to light. I always find it cool when we watch videos about the compounds and different substances used to create photographs.

Film Response - Anand Varma

I thought it was really cool how Anand Varma managed to find his own niche in the competitive field of photography. It was interesting how he photographed parasites and unusual animals like bats and chickens while inside the egg. The combination of science and photography made for a great video.

Does the photographer  tell a story ?  Yes, the photographer tells a story as you can see as in the image below with the bat. You can see by the emotions on his face and by the bat that there is a lot more to the image than you can see at first glance. 4. What do you find interesting about his work?   I find it interesting that he photographs a lot of unusual subjects such as insects that most people might find gross or disgusting and he photographs them in a way that make in interesting.
